Listened to a great recording today

Fascinating stuff.

A recording of an interview with a genetic scientist, who spent 20 years as an M.D. professor. He taught this generation of Doctors.

He’s been in research for the last 20 years, and he says everything he taught those doctors is wrong.

Genetic Determinism is the “religion” of the current M.D. culture. They believe we are all victims of our genetic code, and that the only thing we can do to solve problems is to perform surgeries and administer medications to correct the “errors” in our code.

This scientist’s research shows that our MINDS control the behavior of our genes.

Holy Smokes!

He says that with the right building materials (nutrition), and removal of poisons (toxins and MEDICATIONS), plus the application of some physical activity and ample sunlight, our bodies can do ANYTHING.

And the overriding control of this anything is…. Or Minds.

Very encouraging.

One of the best building materials is… you guessed it… GOJI

The polysaccarides in Goji are nearly impossible to find elsewhere. And they are a fantastic building block for all kinds of things in our bodies. They also counteract the acidic by-products of modern living.

Love ‘em!

Success over time

Well, it’s now been a year since starting this quest.

My brother and I have had our blood tested and the results are remarkable - less cholesterol and triglycerides, higher Ph.

I keep a bag of dried berries in my truck, by my desk, and by my bed. I have several bottles of the juice from hi.freelife.com in the fridge at all times. I mix it with vodka for an occasional nip, and it goes in all my smoothies. Some of the research I’ve located states that some of the nutrients are better transported by alcohol… which is my excuse for adding a little vodka once in a while! ;)

I also ground some of the dried berries up and keep the powder in a ziploc to make into tea. I don’t filter out the powder in a tea ball or bag… I just drink it all. Really nice hot beverage, and the traditional Nepalese way for consuming it.

I’ve lost weight, my blood numbers are a lot better, and I sleep a lot better than before. This is one habit that will be easy to keep from here on out… I’m positively addicted to the taste now. Can’t believe I used to think they tasted like alfalfa!

Results from my Bro

Well, my brother has been doing the Goji thing since Christmas too. He has fairly high Cholesterol numbers, normally. So he keeps track of his blood stats pretty regularly.

He had some very interesting news for me the other day…

In just the last 6 weeks, his triglycerides number was cut in HALF. His other sterols numbers were also better, but his doc was just shocked at that one. We’ll have to see how those numbers hold over time, but that’s pretty darn encouraging.

I need to get in and have my numbers checked… I’ll bet they’re pretty happy by now!

Goji Update

Apparently this stuff really grows on you…

When I eat the dried berries now, they taste really sweet and delicious. I remember when I first tried them, they tasted like hay! Guess my body is communicating with my mouth to tell it what it likes… quite clearly.

As just a confirmation, I had my wife try another handful of the dried berries, and she said, “Nope. Still tastes like straw to me.”  So it’s confirmed… I really like these things. I didn’t just get a fresher batch that was better or anything…

Now if you’re freaking out at the thought that these berries taste like hay; don’t worry. Like I said, they get a lot better with time. And if you’re not into that thought, get the juice. It’s yummy right from the get-go. My wife and my mom both love it!

Goji and weight loss

Quick update on my progress:

I’ve been doing the Goji thing since before Christmas, and I’ve lost nearly 10 pounds! I don’t know which beneficial factor is most in play with me, but it’s working. I’m assuming it’s either insulin balancing or alkalization that is bringing my weight down. I haven’t changed my eating habits at all… in fact I lost that weight over the Holidays!

There’s lots of research out there showing that goji, indeed, can help with weight loss. Much like my situation, it can be due to a number of factors. The only exception to this effect is in people that don’t have insulin, acidosis, or other problems goji aids. My brother, for example, is a health fanatic and hasn’t lost an ounce in the same time period (though he scarcely needs to!). He has always avoided sugar, alcohol, animal fats and white flour… drinks wheat grass juice every day… and is extremely active. Not a whole lot to fix there!

Goji Juice just might be the fountain of Youth

I’m really excited about this topic, can you tell? ;)

In the past, staying healthy in a VERY unhealthy country has been difficult to say the least… You had to cook all your own food, and buy it all from the health food store. You had to avoid everything easy… and very carefully scrutinize everything your doctor wanted you to take.

Life is really changing for me.

I still cook most of my own food, and buy whatever I can organic. But my maladies, which required me to go get help from my doctor on occasion, are fading away! My energy level is up, and my mind runs at warp speed for much of the day. It’s easier to make the time to excersize, too.

I can’t wait to get tested next month - my cholesterol and other blood components. I’m really curious to see the numbers…

All I can say is “Thank goodness for Goji!”

I like the dried berries, but the Goji juice from FreeLife is just darn tasty! And I know it’s the best quality and tested to make sure. But I’m still eating the berries, too. I keep them on my desk to snack on several times a day.  But I drink the 2oz of Goji juice with breakfast every day.

I must say, I’m in a much better mood lately… and I sleep like a rock.

Well, back to more health research… Have a Goji day!
